Members of Lions club adampur doaba distt jalandhar took initiative and formed Lions Eye Hospital Charitable Society Adampur Doaba with a resolve to work in the field of Eye care in a big way. Land measuring 10880 sq. ft. was purchased in 2005 and construction of the Lions Eye Hospital was started in the year 2007. The OPD was started on 22nd August 2010. At present the Hospital building has basement 2400 sq feet housing the two Operation theatres and relate accommodation. Ground floor housing OPD Reception, Doctor and optical shop, office etc. First floor having a spacious hall with toilets and a meeting room second floor have of 100 Beds. There is a provision for the expansion of the Hospital building and lift.

Presently the Hospital has two full time Eye surgeon, Optometrist and other supporting staff 25. I0L, surgeries with best quality lens are done on payment basis whereas the operations identified during camps are done free of cost. The patients are provided with food, accommodation medicines and spectacles free of cost. The society has so far organized- 35 mega and 200 mini camps. Eye operation camps, screening camps for school children are being organized by the Society from time to time and free spectacles are given to the students, We hope the Hospital will scale
new heights with the active cooperation of lion members and the general public and other NGO’S working in the area.
